While the solar industry has recently faced pricing pressure and overcapacity, leading companies are expanding into integrated energy storage, AI-powered energy management, and international projects to strengthen long-term growth.

China remains the world’s largest renewable energy market and continues to lead global investment in clean energy. Chinese renewable energy companies are investing billions of dollars in solar power, wind energy, battery storage, green hydrogen, and smart energy technologies. While the solar industry has recently faced pricing pressure and overcapacity, leading companies are expanding into integrated energy storage, AI-powered energy management, and international projects to strengthen long-term growth.

1. LONGi Green Energy Technology

LONGi Green Energy is widely recognised as China’s largest and one of the world’s most influential solar technology companies. The company has invested heavily in advanced back-contact (BC) solar cell technology, integrated energy storage, and green hydrogen solutions. Its future strategy focuses on combining solar panels with intelligent battery storage through its LONGi ONE platform, allowing customers to build complete renewable energy systems. Despite recent industry challenges, LONGi continues investing in research, digital energy management, and international partnerships to maintain its global leadership in clean energy innovation.

2. CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited)

Although globally known as the world’s largest EV battery manufacturer, CATL has become one of China’s biggest renewable energy investors through large-scale battery storage systems. The company is investing billions in grid-scale energy storage, battery recycling, sodium-ion batteries, and next-generation energy management technologies. Its long-term goal is to become the world’s leading provider of zero-carbon energy storage solutions, supporting renewable electricity grids, electric mobility, and smart cities across Asia, Europe, and North America.

3. Goldwind Science & Technology

Goldwind is China’s leading wind turbine manufacturer and one of the world’s largest wind energy companies. It has invested significantly in offshore wind farms, digital wind management systems, and hybrid renewable projects. The company’s future vision includes expanding offshore wind capacity, integrating battery storage with wind generation, and developing intelligent energy management platforms. Goldwind is also increasing its international presence through projects across Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia, strengthening its position in the global renewable energy market.

4. Sungrow Power Supply

Sungrow has become one of the world’s leading suppliers of solar inverters and battery energy storage systems. The company continues investing heavily in utility-scale energy storage, floating solar technology, hydrogen production equipment, and smart grid solutions. Sungrow’s long-term objective is to provide integrated renewable energy systems rather than standalone products. With growing demand for battery storage worldwide, the company is expanding manufacturing facilities and increasing investments in international renewable energy infrastructure projects.

5. Envision Energy

Envision Energy has evolved into a global renewable energy technology company specialising in wind turbines, AI-powered energy management, and green hydrogen. The company invests heavily in digital renewable energy platforms that combine wind, solar, storage, and artificial intelligence. Its future goal is to build carbon-neutral industrial parks and smart energy ecosystems worldwide. Envision is also expanding investments in large hybrid renewable energy projects that combine multiple clean energy technologies into one efficient system.

6. JinkoSolar

JinkoSolar is one of the world’s largest solar panel manufacturers and continues investing in high-efficiency solar modules, battery storage, and integrated renewable energy systems. As global solar prices remain under pressure, the company is accelerating investments in energy storage, expecting battery shipments to grow rapidly over the coming years. JinkoSolar’s future strategy focuses on providing complete solar-plus-storage solutions while expanding manufacturing and project development across emerging international markets.

7. Trina Solar

Trina Solar has transformed from a traditional solar module manufacturer into a comprehensive smart energy company. The company invests in solar modules, battery storage, microgrids, smart tracking systems, and digital energy management technologies. Its future objective is to become a complete renewable energy solution provider capable of delivering integrated solar, storage, and intelligent power management systems. International expansion and technological innovation remain central to Trina Solar’s long-term investment strategy.

8. JA Solar Technology

JA Solar is one of China’s largest photovoltaic manufacturers with strong investments across the entire solar value chain, including wafers, cells, and modules. The company is expanding investment in high-efficiency solar technology while increasing production capacity for advanced energy solutions. Looking ahead, JA Solar aims to strengthen its international market share through sustainable manufacturing, advanced photovoltaic research, and integrated renewable energy systems designed for utility-scale and commercial customers worldwide.

9. Tongwei Co., Ltd.

Tongwei has become one of the world’s largest producers of polysilicon and solar cells through continuous investment in manufacturing efficiency and technological innovation. The company is strengthening its fully integrated solar supply chain while investing in next-generation photovoltaic technologies. Its future ambition is to remain a global leader in high-efficiency solar manufacturing while supporting China’s carbon neutrality goals through cleaner production processes and increased renewable energy deployment across international markets.

10. China Three Gorges Renewables Group

China Three Gorges Renewables is one of China’s largest state-backed renewable energy developers, investing heavily in wind farms, solar parks, offshore wind projects, and clean electricity infrastructure. The company plays a major role in supporting China’s long-term carbon neutrality objectives through massive renewable energy investments. Its future plans include expanding offshore wind generation, hybrid renewable energy bases, battery storage facilities, and green electricity transmission networks to support sustainable economic development throughout China.
