Singapore-based solar energy firm Sunseap Group has struck a deal with Amazon for the export of clean energy through the national grid and aid in the e-commerce giant meeting its sustainability goals.

The 62-megawatt-peak of renewable energy will play a major role in Amazon’s pledge to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2030.

According to Sunseap, the project will be the largest aggregated mobile solar system in Singapore, after its completion. The energy will be tapped from JTC’s solar farms that will amount to 80GWh worth of renewable energy annually that translates to powering over 10,000 houses in Singapore.

In 2020, Sunseap was awarded one of the contracts under JTC’s SolarLand Phase III as part of JTC’s endeavor to make industrial estates more environmentally friendly. As per the deal, Sunseap will be installing solar systems across Singapore that are modular, deplorable, and flexible for temporary vacant lands.

Notably, Sunseap has other projects in Vietnam, Taiwan, Cambodia, Australia, and mainland China.

In a statement, Sunseap Group president and co-founder Lawrence Wu stated that Amazon has set a pace in sustainable energy that multinational corporations should follow. Sunseap has been leading in rooftop installations and has equal expertise at installing ground-mount systems, he added.
