Marriott Bonvoy – Marriott International’s travel program, and American Express have uncovered changes to the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card, intended to change business expenses into travel rewards.
With effective today, the Amex card instantly offers new and existing card members with a 7% room rate discount on eligible bookings at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy, 4X Marriott Bonvoy points at restaurants, across the globe, and complimentary Gold Elite status, adding to all the card’s existing benefits.
David Flueck, Senior Vice President of Global Loyalty at Marriott International, Inc stated that the opulent, novel benefits would assist Card Members owning and working for small businesses stretch their travel dollars much further and reward them for being a part of the engine that drives the US economy. He further added that the diligent small business card members who spend many nights traveling for business can now earn points toward vacations and getaways with family and friends even quicker when staying at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and utilizing their Card for daily incurring expenses.
Small business owners have endured many challenges over the past few years, pivoted their strategies, and are now considering getting back on course with how they run their business, stated Courtney Kelso, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Global Commercial Card at American Express. Kelso further added that, this would involve hitting the road again for networking, client meetings, new business pitches and much more. Now, these Card Members can make the best of their business and leisure tour with their enhanced Marriott Bonvoy Business Card and the ability to earn even additional valuable points and rewards.
According to new data from an American Express survey1, 82% of small business leaders assessed said that discounted room rates are a crucial decision factor when booking travel, whilst 78% stated that they would extend their trip if they had a discount on rooms.
The survey also found that three-fourths (73%) of respondents have the same opinion that having status with a hospitality brand influences where they book overnight accommodations when traveling for business. Adding on, 67% of small business leaders have plans to travel for work in the next one to three months.

In supplement to the new benefits, Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card Members can also continue to benefit from these existing advantages such as, 15 Elite Night Credits, Annual Free Night Award, and no foreign transaction fees, inclusive of other added benefits.
The enhanced Card benefits described above will also be experienced by cardmembers who have the Marriott Bonvoy Premier Plus Business Credit Card from Chase, which is no longer offered to new applicants.
