The company reported consolidated revenue of around $1.29 billion, slightly above analyst forecasts, and delivered a narrower-than-anticipated loss per share. Although automotive revenues declined year-on-year, driven by lower regulatory credit sales and softer vehicle deliveries linked to the expiration of certain federal tax incentives, Rivian’s software and services division emerged as a bright spot, registering more than a 100 per cent increase in revenues. This diversification of income streams has not only softened the impact of cyclical headwinds but also highlighted Rivian’s evolving business model beyond hardware sales.
