Zayed University and Oracle on Thursday announced the extension of their partnership into a novel innovative revolution. A brand-new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at GITEX Global in October- 2022 builds on Zayed University and Oracle’s current 15-year partnership.
Noting the new agreement, Nadia Obaid AlQabanji, Director of Zayed University’s Information Technology Department said that Oracle and Zayed University have a powerful association and shared ambition to offer learners with access to world-leading technologies in the digital learning space. Zayed University is determined to continue at the forefront of the curve.
AlQabanji added that technology is at the heart and soul of an innovation revolution that has been taking place in the higher education space. The possibilities offered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and data science in the educational segment are potentially transformational.
The extension of this agreement with Oracle certifies that Zayed University’s students and faculty will gain from their world-class infrastructure, services, and software as the company continues to launch its exciting new strategy, she said.
Determining partnerships and leveraging the proficiency of industry leaders is a fundamental pillar of Zayed University’s new strategy as it provides state-of-the-art education opportunities to its students. In line with the brand-new strategy, this partnership with Oracle would enhance Zayed University, employment prospects for the students when they advance, as the students would be equipped with the skills required to flourish in the technology-propelled jobs of the future.
As part of the new partnership agreement Oracle would support Zayed University on its digital transformation strategy in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain and data science, conduct training and workshops for the Zayed University personnel, offer essential access to subject matter specialists and review the University’s prevailing technology planning.
Oracle’s agreement with Zayed University is proposed to enrich digital learning in the UAE’s educational space. Oracle aims to strengthen its expertise, knowledge, and adaptability to develop talent readiness for the digital economy by enabling educators and students with advanced technology resources and training programs, said Oracle’s Cherian Varghese, Senior Vice President of Technology Software- Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Levant region.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Sherif Mousa, Acting Chief Administration and Financial Officer of Zayed University, and Cherian Varghese, Senior Vice President of Technology – Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Levant region at Oracle, for the duration of their participation at the 42nd edition of world’s biggest technology event.
Oracle’s Eastern Central European and Middle East headquarters are in Dubai and a leader in digital transformation during its over 30 years in the region.
