Britain’s Vodafone is targeting to play a vigorous role in any association of Spain’s telecommunication industry, wherein a lower competition would allow operators the fiscal muscle to pay for the 5G association, regional CEO Colman Deegan stated.
Vodafone and the Spanish Telecom Industry
Deegan stated in an op-ed section published by Expansion newspaper on 16th December 2021 (Thursday), that at Vodafone, they strived to perform a dynamic role in the procedure of telecommunication consolidation in Spain.
He stated that the prevalent state of the market had inhibited profitability and left providers devoid of financial capability to pay for the infrastructure required to develop 5G technology.
The telecom mogul, along with its competitors such as Orange and Telefonica have distressed the European Commission to relax anti-trust regulations to inhibit rivalry in the industry.
